Power and Communications
 
  • Practically the entire country is served by the National Electric Grid (110V) and the automated telephone System, which allows immediate national or international communication from any part of the country. There are public telephones in cities, towns and highways that used 100, 50 and 25 colones coins as well as electronic cards (Smart chips Phone cards) purchased in Costa Rica.

Internet
  • Fax, Internet and e-mail services are provided to the public in Radiografica's main office (downtown) including Saturdays and Sundays. 
Currency Exchange
 
  • Foreign currency exchange is not subject to restrictions or limitations and may be carried out in state banks, private banks, currency exchange offices, hotels, etc. The Central Bank publishes the official daily exchange rate to serve as a guide.
Currency
  • El Colón is the national currency of Costa Rica and is denominated in 10.000, 5.000, 2.000 and 1.000 bills as well as 500, 100, 50, 25, 20, 10 and 5 colones coins.
Credit Cards
  • The most common international credit cards used in Costa Rica are: Visa, Master Card, American Express and Diner's. They are widely used and accepted in the majority of establishment.

Religion
  • Catholicism is the predominant religion but there is freedom of worship and total respect for different beliefs.
Language
  • Spanish is the official language. However, English is spoken by an important segment of the population, thanks to the bilingual education provide in the country's Schools. In many tourism centers, particularly hotels: French, German and Italian are also frequently used.
Dress Code
  • Except on very solemn occasions or when required by Etiquette, Costa Rica's dress code is informal for all occasions and places. In the low lands dress is tropical but it may also be used in San José and the Central Valley, by adding light coat for cool nights.
Driving 
  • Tourist may drive in Costa Rica with the official driver's license of their country of origin for a maximum period of three months.
Health
  • The broad network provided by "Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social"  hospitals, clinics and health service locations distributed throughout the country, may be used by foreign tourists who present their passport and cover the corresponding expenses. There also are excellent private hospitals and clinics. 
Tourism
  • There is an entity the I.C.T or "Instituto Costarricense de Turismo" (Costa Rican Tourist Bureau), that regulates and promotes the Tourist industry in the country. This government institution has many visitor  information centers spread throughout the territory.
