This park is located at North Pacific Area, 36 kilometers North of Liberia City, Province of Guanacaste, and has an extention of 32.512 hectares with a huge ecological diversity distributed in its very humid forest, humid forest, cloudy forest and dry tropical forests. It is important to remark that Tempisque River is born in this park. By its extension, diversity and location, in the Atlantic side as well as in the Pacific one, the park possesses a great biological diversity in its humid evergreen forest. The forest in the tops of the volcanos Orosí and Cocoa is primary, the plants excel epífitas as bromelias and orchids, exist helechos, aráceas and mosses. This National Park protects about 3.000 species of plants, 300 of birds, 5.000 of nocturnal and diurnal butterflies, as well as many mammals such as jaguars, monkeys, tepescuintles, pumas and deers. The Park grounds offer restrooms, drinking water, lookout point and trails.
