This National Park is located 532 kilometers to the South of Cabo Blanco and consists of extreme of Nicoya and consists of 2.400 hectares of land and 97.235 hectares in its marine part. The island is considered as a natural laboratory for the spices evolution study. It is extremely rainy, about 7.000 mm per year and it is covered for a evergreen forest. The topography is very irregular with a lot of cascades. The coast is very winding and has cliffs of 183 meters of height and infinity of submarine caves. The blue sea is of extraordinary transparency. Here have been identified 235 spices of plants, 362 of insects, 2 of reptiles, 3 of spiders, 85 of birds including the marine ones, 57 of crustaceans, 118 of marine moluscos, more than 200 of fish and 18 corals. In their waters the sharks abound with white fin, the giant sharks hammer, the tunas, the fish dark-brown, the blankets and jureles.
