Volcano Hiking "El Silencio" Trail
Code: CRWT-6

Frequent sightings include three types of monkeys, wild boars, two types of toucans, White-Nosed Coatis, Oro Pendulas, Golden Eyelash Vipers, Boa Constrictors, White-tailed Deer, Great Curassows and Poison Dart Frogs. Our expert bilingual naturalist guide will find the animals, point indigenous rain forest plants, and educate you on a few of the more than 300 cures derived from them.
The tour begins with a 20 minute trip to the far west side of Arenal Volcano, where you will spend about one hour exploring the Silencio Trail. Before dark , you will continue to the observation point, which offers the closest, most direct lava flow vista. Relax, enjoy a beverage and listen to the incredible sounds of the volcano. If cloud cover is high enough, expect to see a dazzling display of falling lava rocks. Your guide will explain the history of this magnificent volcano as you listen to a variety of frogs, toucans, insects and watch thousands of lightning bugs.
Your tour can end here, or you can continue with a refreshing two hour thermal hot springs visit. Tabacon Resort is the #1 attraction in Costa Rica, and considered by many the most beautiful hot springs in the world.
