With almost 30.000 inhabitants, this is the throughway to some of the most appealing beaches, like Samara Beach along a wonderful and sturdy highway. Located in the Peninsula of the same name, in Guanacaste, this town took its name from the indigenous language NECOC means on both sides and IAUH means water, so NECOC-IAUH means water on both sides, as well as in honor to a Tribe Cheif named NICOYA.

Here you find banks, schools, high-schools, post office, lodges, restaurants and cafes. Villagers grow cotton, rice, diferent grains, cows for milk and meat, wood as part of their main activities.
