Most of its 58 Kms (36
Mls) run parallel to the beach, therefore offering unique landscapes
that combine ocean, sky and lush tropical vegetation. Cahuita and
Puerto Viejo are two small but cozy towns along this route.
The paved road ends two kilometers after Home Creek, and continues
on gravel, usable the year round, down to Manzanillo.
One of the most amazing attractions of this route is the Cahuita National
Park, with its spectacular live coral reef. Camping facilities are
available in the Puerto Vargas area.
If you will go to Puerto Viejo from San Jose by public
transportation or shuttle bus, you will get a marvellous 4 1/2
hours trip. |
