Day 01: Departure from San Jose City by
8:30 am, drive by the steel church of Grecia, Sarchi's Oxcart Factory
and the topiary park of Zarcero. After check-in at the local hotel,
hike to the Arenal Volcano where you can observe the violet gas, lava
and ashes eruptions. Also on the nature hike learn about the forest
vegetation and see tropical birds and monkeys. Just by sunset relax
and enjoy the Tabacón Hot Springs. Overnight at a local hotel.
Day 02: Beautiful drive around lake Arenal
crossing the country from the North Atlantic flat lands up to the Monteverde
Cloud Forest. On the drive it is common to observe exotic tropical birds
and sometimes mammals. Early afternoon option between a hike by the
tree tops at the Sky Walk or visit the Butterfly Farm. Overnight at
a local hotel.
Day 03: Early naturalist guided walk by
the nicest Tropical Cloud Forest of the America's: "The Monteverde
Cloud Forest Preserve", home of the Resplendent Quetzal and the
Golden Frog. Slide show and Hummingbird Gallery. Afternoon drive back
to San Jose by the Pan-American Highway.
