Welcome to the biggest and most complete tropical park in Central America, TURU BA RI, an Eco-adventure oriented theme park that started operation on 2003. It has a total extension of 496 acres in a beautiful scenery, surrounded by the Río Grande de Tárcoles, Turrubares Hillsides , the Carara National Park and the Gulf of Nicoya.
This is the ideal place for visitors who are looking to learn more about Costa Rica's natural history, discovering our ancestor's life style, having an adventure experience or simply enjoy the beautiful landscape.
This tourist attraction will let all kind of visitors to be in touch with nature in its facilities such as:

Butterfly Garden: A natural refuge of 12,400 square feet and with over 35 different butterfly species are hosting. At the nursery you will learn about the butterfly life's cycle starting with the egg, an expert will guide you through the worm and cocoon states to reach the magnificent butterfly that is release at the climate controlled garden in which a lot of flower, fruits and plants specially selected for each species were grounded to provide home, food and a nesting place for them.

Palm Collection: With over 150 species from around the world, carefully taken care of to offer a unique exhibit for the most curious plant lovers.

Cactus Collection: A showcase of funny shapes and spines to remind us of the inhabitants of the dry areas of America.

Bamboo Area: Hear the mystic bamboo move with the wind and find out why our visitors consider this a meditation refuge.

Bromeliads Garden: With over 500 plants, this is an amazing way to learn about the marvels of this family, exclusive of the tropics of the Americas.

Countryside Farm: With typical indigenous ranch, sugar mill, organic vegetable garden, domestic animals, and two enjoyable mazes to challenge your orientation sense!.

Herbarium: Learn what plants Costa Ricans use for curative needs and to spice their food.

The Indian Trail: Enjoy the amazing forest in all comfort, with paved trails, bridges over the stream and the display of the beautiful Long-Tailed Manakin, with its magnificent songs and courtship dances.

Also you can enjoy the Canopy Tour, Sky Ride and Horseback Riding, as well as three different restaurants named Garabito, Los Mangos and Los Mirtos Bar & Grill.

If you want to see all the attractions we recommend arriving early in the morning and take care of the last admittanceis at 3:00 p.m.
