Costa Rica has two International airports: The main one is the "JUAN SANTAMARIA" located 18 Km. from the Capital City of San Jose and serves all international and domestic flights, and the "DANIEL ODUBER" located 234 Km. North of San Jose and 10 Km. from the City of Liberia capital of the province of Guanacaste. This second airport was open few years ago and basically serves charter flights coming from different parts of the world with tourist heading for the beautiful beaches located in this area.  Also is used as an alternative airport in case of adverse weather conditions that may affect the other airport.Since the majority of Costa Rica destinations are within 30-40 minutes flights, San Jose airport serves these local routes by smaller aircraft. Another great way of moving arround is by renting a vehicule.  In Costa Rica there are several Car Rentals which are very professional and offer only the best standard in customer satisfaction and vehicules.
